1-  We moved to São Paulo in one thousand ninety hundred and ninety three (1993).

Não seria…

 We moved to São Pauloin nineteen ninety three (1993)?


2- Violence is badder than pollution.

A intenção era dizer “pior”? A forma comparativa de bad?


Violence is worse than pollution.

 Da mesma forma, temos a forma comparative de good:

This book is better than the previous one.

3- I’d like other pencil, please.


Precisa de outro lápis? Então vamos lá:


I’d like another pencil, please.



Por falar neste assunto tão controverso para quem estuda inglês… Veja as sentenças abaixo:


I like soccer; other people prefer tennis.

(other (adjetivo) + people (substantivo)


I like soccer, others prefer tennis.

(usamos others para omitir o substantivo “people”, que já havíamos citado)

We are playing soccer now, the others will play tennis.

                                             (os outros, as outras pessoas)
