Common mistakes in English 22

1. I saw she last week, but she didn’t see me…

Lembram-se dos pronomes pessoais e objetivos?

She works here.

(“she” substitui a pessoa que realiza a ação. É um pronome pessoal)

I saw Marta last week.

I saw her last week.

Her, neste caso, faz referência à pessoa ou aquilo que vi, (Marta). Aqui her é um pronome objetivo.

Não confunda esse “her” com o pronome possessivo:

This is her car – Marta’s car.

Assim: I saw her last week, but she didn’t see me…

2. He thinks he will have a brilliant carrier…

I hope so, mas…

Carrier não se refere à carreira profissional, mas sim à atividade de carregar, portar algo, a transportes e linhas aéreas.

Desta forma:

1.    He thinks he will have a brilliant career.

2.    ABC Airlines was considered the best carrier for international fights last year.

3. I always have a feel to eat candies after lunch…

You mean ter vontade de…?

Logo:

I always feel like eating candies after lunch…

Observe que feel like requer outro verbo no gerúndio (ing).
