Common mistakes in English 39

1-    There are very people in my area…

Oops… Você quer dizer quantidade de pessoas?

So:

There are many / a lot of people in my area.

Aí estamos falando de quantidade.

What if… você quiser enfatizar alguma qualidade ou característica da sua área?

Use very / really or too:

There are very nice people in my area.

There are really nice people in my area. (really is more informal)

We are too busy this week…

(Be careful! Too dá a conotação de excessivo)

2- I have working hard…

Ok, mas qual é o tempo verbal?

Look at:

I have worked hard. (Present perfect: have/has + past participle)

I have been working hard. (Present Perfect Progressive/Continuous: have/has + been + verb with ING)

Logo: I have working hard não existe em inglês…

3-  My boss said: It depends of you…

Prepositions…

I guess he meant: It depends on you…
